Oscar Martinez, MD, FACEP
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Martinez is an emergency physician and experienced physician leader. He is a graduate of The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and remained at UT Southwestern to complete his residency in emergency medicine at Parkland Hospital.
Prior to his medical career, Dr. Martinez received a BA in Economics from Georgetown University and worked as a business consultant in San Francisco, California. Since beginning his medical career, he has worked at both large urban trauma centers and rural hospitals, serving as medical director at several sites. While working at an HCA hospital, Valley Regional Medical Center, he was awarded the Thomas First Humanitarian Award, given to individuals who serve their community and whose daily dedication and care giving epitomize the highest standards of quality and personal commitment. Currently, Dr. Martinez is an attending physician and medical director.
Dr. Martinez resides in Austin, Texas. In 2011, he founded the non-profit GivingMore.org to provide free medical care and education to rural villages in southwest Nicaragua.
